شريحة eSIM لبلجيكا

Not from us: kimsim plans are data only, and your usual number stays in the phone for calls, texts and WhatsApp. A Belgian number means a Belgian prepaid line, such as Proximus Pay&Go+, which costs 5 euros online for 10 euros of credit and 3 GB. Belgian law says the card must be linked to your ID before it can call, text or go online, so plan time for that step.

Yes. Since a Royal Decree of 27 November 2016, every prepaid card in Belgium must be identified, including cards from foreign operators sold there. In a shop you show the original of a valid ID, and an international passport is accepted; online, BASE asks for a photo of your passport and a selfie. Until the card is identified, it can't call, text or go online. A travel eSIM installed at home skips this step.

With an EU SIM, usually not: it roams like at home in Belgium, as long as you spend more time at home than abroad. UK plans left that system after Brexit, so Three charges 2.75 pounds a day and Vodafone sells an 8-day pass for 16 pounds, while O2 still includes Europe. Verizon and AT&T charge 12 US dollars a day, and T-Mobile's Experience More plans include 5 GB at high speed. Check your own plan, then compare it with a week in the plan picker above.

No. The Belgium plan works in Belgium only, and Amsterdam, Lille, Paris and Luxembourg are all a short train ride away. Near the border your phone can also pick up a Dutch or French network early, and then data stops. For a trip that crosses over, the Europe plan shown above covers Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Luxembourg, Germany and the UK on one eSIM.

Don't count on it. The airport's own shopping pages list chocolates, perfume, books and gadgets on the way to the arrivals hall, but don't mention a mobile operator counter. Any SIM you buy in town also has to be linked to your passport before it works. An eSIM installed at home is online as you land, so you can tap your bank card straight onto the airport bus or check train times on the way down to the station under the terminal.
